Jujubes would be the favorite chewy sweet of everyone. It brings back my sweet childhood memories! When I came across the recipe online, I was surprised that it could be made so easily at home. I immediately tried it and it came out perfect!

INGREDIENTS:
- Unflavored gelatin/agar agar - 30 grams
- Cold water - 1/2 cup
- Water - 3/4 cup
- Sugar - 2 cups
- Food color - as per your choice
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - for coating
METHOD:
- Take 1/2 cup of cold water in a bowl and sprinkle gelatin over it; set aside
- In a heavy bottomed pan, heat 2 cups of sugar with 3/4th of a cup of water. Let the sugar dissolve and bring it to boil
- Remove from heat and pour in the gelatin mixture. Stir well and add the vanilla extract
- Divide the mixture into separate bowls depending upon the number of colors you need
- Add in a few drops of food color and mix well
- Pour the mixture into the prepared glass trays and refrigerate overnight
- Once it is set, cut it into cubes with a sharp knife
- Take a tray with sugar and roll the cubes over it. Store in air-tight container at room temperature
